Sport2Life launches S_COOL project

Children from across Europe coming to Croatia!

At the start of 2025, the Croatian association Sport 2 Life officially launched the international project S_COOL – Sport for Children’s Optimal Outdoor active and healthy Lifestyle, co-funded by the European Union under the ERASMUS-SPORT-2024 – Not-for-Profit European Sport Events programme. The project will run throughout the year, with a total EU contribution of EUR 450,000.00.

S_COOL brings together 12 partner organisations from 10 European countries: Croatia, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Serbia, Czech Republic, Spain, North Macedonia, Slovenia and Austria, with the shared goal of encouraging healthier lifestyle choices among primary school children through sports, education and cross-border collaboration.

The project’s main event will be LAVCUP25, a three-day international tournament to be held in Croatia, gathering 250 children who will compete in football, basketball and volleyball. In addition to the sporting competitions, participants will take part in workshops on healthy nutrition, environmental awareness, emotional well-being, and injury prevention through practical, child-friendly sessions. As part of the event, coaches and sports personnel will also take part in training sessions covering topics such as inclusive games for children, balancing screen time and physical activity, conflict resolution in youth sports, and promoting equality, diversity and children’s rights in sport.

Another key component of the project is the Active & Healthy Challenge, a campaign implemented by all partner organisations to encourage physical activity, balanced nutrition, reduced screen time and daily wellness habits in their local communities.

S_COOL highlights the values of inclusion, equality, cooperation and intercultural dialogue, using sport as a universal tool to connect children from across Europe.
